MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
is a singer/songwriter/storyteller with mad guitar skills, a velvet voice, and a huge dose of charm and wit. "New-folk" award winner at the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival, 8-time "Song Of The Year" for West Coast Songwriters, and named DIY "Artist Of The Year" by Performing Songwriter Magazine. McNevin grew up in the train town of Niles, CA, where Charlie Chaplin filmed "The Tramp". His songs read like short stories. Accomplished guitar work, seasoned vocals, a keen sense of detail, humor and heart, all underscore the characters and places he comes across in his travels. He's shared the bill with Johnny Cash & The Carter Family, Shawn Colvin, Donovan, Richie Havens, Rosanne Cash and many others. He's been a main stager at some of the bigger music festivals around. Not to be missed!
“I don’t know what’s best about ‘Sketch’ - Michael McNevin’s music or his Etch-A-Sketch drawings that accompany each song. McNevin is a singer songwriter of the highest order...”
~ Acoustic Guitar Magazine
“Secondhand Story” is an evocative peek into a stranger’s life.”
~ Chicago Tribune
“...heard you on the KFOG acoustic Sunday morning show ...bagging groceries and an Etch-A-Sketch. Two of my historical accomplishments … dig the tunes "
~ Tony Bennett
Late for the Train
is a modern string band that feels both fresh and familiar. Drawing heavily from bluegrass and old-time, the San Francisco-based 4-piece weaves elements of folk, funk, and jamgrass into powerful and articulate arrangements of original and traditional music.
The band consists of songwriters and multi-instrumentalists David Pascoe (guitar/mandolin), Laura Benson (fiddle), Thom Beneduci (stand-up bass), and Nick Blechman (banjo/mandolin/guitar).
The emerging group has brought their distinct sound to stages across California and Colorado, including the Sheridan Opera House (Telluride, CO), The Temporary (Basalt, CO), Cervantes Other Side (Denver, CO), Soho (Santa Barbara, CA), and Hopmonk Tavern (Sebastopol, CA). They have also played at Music on the Mothership (Taos, NM), Mini-Fest (Lake County, CA), and other mid-sized festivals.
In addition to performing, David & Laura founded Every Folk, a three-day folk music and skills camp for adults.
